Grand Honors for our Humble Founder
Orluff & Judy Opheikens Honored as Grand Marshal
It’s no secret to those who have interacted with our founder, Orluff Opheikens and his beautiful wife, Judy, that they exemplify selfless leadership. Though they never seek this outward recognition, their lives embody the presence of giving more than you receive. Orluff’s tireless work ethic and belief in offering opportunities to others has left its mark on all who have crossed his path.
Over the years, this dynamic duo has collaborated with many local cities, in this case, North Ogden, Utah, offering improvement solutions for its burgeoning needs. Orluff has led his companies, friends and the community at large through the philosophy of life improvement. Recently, through a donation by the Opheikens, a new pickleball court was unveiled at Lomond View Park for the community’s enjoyment. However, this is only one small example of his lifetime dedication to others.
Orluff does so humbly with no desire for recognition and those who have had the privilege to work alongside him will attest to his selfless nature. And in that great humility, Orluff and Judy accepted the honor of being named Cherry Days Grand Marshal, a testament to their enduring legacy of service and compassion.
Former Grand Marshal and co-founder of R&O Construction, the late Les Randall, met Orluff as neighbors, and their friendship blossomed into a bond akin to father and son. Together, they toiled fields, tended to water lines and nurtured horses, laying the foundation of R&O. Ultimately, becoming a conduit for aiding countless individuals, from friends, neighbors, the community at large and to all of us who thrive at R&O today.
Today, we celebrate these great individuals who have impacted so many in a positive light. Congratulations, and we sincerely thank you for your exemplary dedication to others!
