Project Briefing

The Detwiler School built by R&O Construction in Las Vegas was one of the new elementary school prototypes being built in the Clark County School District of Nevada. Assistive learning equipment, a faculty lounge, sponge playground floors, and a multi-purpose room that serves as a cafeteria, gymnasium and assembly hall are all features of the new schools. Computer network cabling equips students with technology that take them into the 21st century. R&O completed construction of the 60,000 sf Detwiler school in just 10 months.

Notable Information

The project not only included the school on a 13.6 acre site but two full-sized ball fields complete with backstops and grass, playground equipment in three areas, basketball and tether-ball courts and pick up and drop off bus areas for safety. Colorful interiors add to the school’s aesthetics, creating a pleasant learning environment.
