Bidding FAQs
What are the requirements for submitting a bid?
A current contractor license from the state of the project related to the scope/trades you are bidding. *Nevada requires you to have an active contractor’s license before submitting a proposal. Our minimum insurance requirements are $1,000,000 per occurrence, $2,000,000 aggregate & $1,000,000 umbrella. Survey subcontractors must have errors and omissions insurance (professional liability insurance). If a project has specific insurance requirements, those will be listed on the invitation.
Who should I send my proposal to?
Each invitation to bid has the contact information of the estimator who is accepting bids on that project.
We appreciate you confirming your intent to bid when you receive the invitation. Please email your proposal before the due date and time to that estimator.
What do you look for in a qualified subcontractor?
Factors such as a complete scope of work, available manpower, work history, references, financial solvency, and bonding capacity are reviewed.
Where do I find bidding opportunities for your company?
Once we receive your company information, we will enter you into our SmartBid database. After which, you will receive invitations to bid for your scope of work(s) in the areas you work. You may also use our website to view projects that are currently bidding. Through the company website, you can check on what projects have been awarded to R&O or are still awaiting results. To view this information, create a user account under Bid on a Project. *This is a separate system from our database.
What are your safety requirements?
Compliance with R&O’s safety plan, job site safety requirements, applicable OSHA, and other governmental safety rules and regulations and owner-imposed safety requirements. If your company is awarded a project, we will need a copy of your standard company safety plan or manual to keep on file. The following trades require a project-specific Site Safety Plan:
-Steel Erection
-Any trade/scope with shoring, bracing (masonry, concrete tilt panels) or using cranes for work over 12’
